I received my full size sample of Afrin Pur Sea Hydrating Nasal Rinse just as I was in the beginning of a nasty cold. I was thrilled to receive it at this point in time and I used it right away.
In the past, I have used a regular neti pot with warm water and salt solution. This does help in nasal rinsing, however the salt water does burn a bit and the stream of solution is hard to control with the pot because you seem to spill quite a bit.
I have also used saline nasal sprays in the past, however they do not rinse your nasal passage thoroughly, just a short spray to lubricate it.
My experience with the new Afrin Pure Sea Nasal Rinse was a pleasant experience between the neti pot and the sprays. It was much easier to use once you get the hang of it. It does take a bit of getting used to using a device such as this as I experienced during using my neti pot for the first few times. However, after I got control of it, it was very nice to be able to control the amount of solution you are using at the time. I also found that it DID NOT burn as it did with the salt water solution in the neti pot, probably since it is 100% natural source purified sea water which contains natural saltwater. I found that I liked this product very much.
It retails at $14.99, but I found it for a little less in my supermarket and nearby pharmacies at about an average of $11.99, with the $3.00 coupons, I would use it again, but may not purchase it at the full price. If they could somehow reduce the price to the $6-$8 price range, it may be worth it.
I will be re-using it in the future without a cold, being that spring will be bringing out the pollens with it and I will need to be using such a product again.
