Last year my Mother lived over 300 miles from me. Well I moved from the beach back close to home, back in September of 08. Now I go over to see my Mom all the time, which now only lives about 24 miles from me.
Well anyway, when I got too her house I sat in the driveway and gave her a call on the phone. She has a large yard. So I am lazy and I always call and play a game with her. I was going to say "Mom I bet it is pretty at your house". I was expecting her to say "You should see it, it's so pretty" and I would have said, yeah you are right it is beautiful around here. And she then would have said, are you in my driveway again? You see I always do this. One time I called her and told her that a deer had been hit in my driveway. She said wow, one is dead in mine right now. I said I know Mom; I am in your driveway. And Other times I say something like do you hear any birds in your yard? She said no, why am I supposed too? I say well I do. See I don't usually tell her I am coming over. I just show up.
Anyway back to yesterday. I called her when I got in the driveway. I didn't get an answer. I was sitting in my car looking at her beautiful yard. And since I don't go anywhere without my digital camera, I got out of the car with it and started taking photos. So here I am in her front yard, wondering what part of the yard she is in. She loves to garden, so I knew she was somewhere working in the flowers. But I couldn't figure out why she hadn't heard me arrive if she was outside (When she is inside the house she never hears me). Well back to my story, so here I was snapping photos. I snapped this one,

then this one,
then this one,
If you look real close you can see white to the right of the flower on the left, there is something in this flower bed. But I had no clue at this point.
then I started to walk to the back yard and I snapped this one.

LMAO she had been standing in the same shot I had just taken, but she was hiding from me. I jumped and snapped this shot as fast as I could. I said you silly MOMMA!

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!"
My mom usually is out gardening on those nice days, too.
My mother passed away in 2003 and I miss her so much. It's great that you moved closer to your mother.

My mom calls me from my driveway all of the time to say that she is there. Doh, mom, the house is on a hill, I can see you coming up the driveway for half a mile!
