One thing I remember from last year is that the better the weather gets the less people will be on Gather.

Spring time always does seem to bring a loss in views/comments. Most people are playing outside and not on the computer as much to Gather.

It might be that people don't find us interesting anymore? Or because we AREN'T online as much, those that see an article from us may think "well I never see them comment on my work, so . . . . "

But jr could be right too, the weather is getting nicer.

many are having less comments but you should also add more groups to post to and also as it is nicer out less and less people are on here and are out in the sun

I've noticed that less people are posting lately. Like someone said, I think it's the better weather that might be causing this.

But, I am getting decent page views for someone as "small" as I am. However, I post a lot of links to my stuff outside of Gather.

I think everyone has a life outside of gather - it's spring time and I have been doing spring projects. I've got tons of stuff I'd love to post, but I'm still so busy trying to get everything done before it gets hot around here.
Dagmara, it does make a difference how much and how often you are on and whether you have a nice little group of people whose stuff you always read and comment on.

I think it naturally fluctuates - sometimes there are more people posting and commenting - sometimes there are less. Hope they do somthing like the three point thing again this summer.:)

Way less Dagmara, I have noticed too. Then yesterday something else happened I had one comment on a photo and at the top it said I had 4 comments??? All I know for sure is my points are not going up worth a darn for a long time now! I know I am not on much, but what the heck happened to the points??? All the more I can get online, it almost isn't worth even coming to Gather!

Gather is losing members. For whatever reason, people are leaving the site more than in the past. Just a week ago, I went through my connections and over 200 of mine are no longer active between Halloween and Valentine's Day. That's less than 3 1/2 months...and just the ones I was connected with...meaning I'm losing two friends a day because they're dropping out. I was getting 100 comments or more on a post in the past. Now, sometimes, I only get 30 - 50 comments...which means page views are down, too, and I'm not getting as many points and I've had to step up my efforts on checking out other people's posts to try to stay at the same rate.

At least you are seeing double digits for the number of comments that you are getting on your articles.

I do view more than I comment, and I know that other people do that too. However, I think that Rob is correct in that there are people leaving. They aren't leaving the online world, but they are becoming inactive on Gather. There are several reasons for that.

Dagmara, it isn't just you. There are a bunch of people on my friends list that seem to have disappeared. I guess they just happen to post at times when I am off, and I do the same. One of my friends that joined Gather called me one day and told me that she saw me show up on her feed for the first time ever, weeks after she joined the site. I was active and she was active but we still somehow lost each other.

People are leaving and people are ill, and people want to get out in the sunshine.
It was a bad winter for most, cycles, everything rises and falls like a tide.
