Getting ready for Farmers Market.

I havent been around Gather Lately. Ive been so super busy.

 Brad and I are going to be selling at our local Farmers Market this year,So theres alot to be done since its our first time doing this kind of thing. We started our own veggies by seed And also flowers and herbs. We have all different kinds and colors of tomatoes.Red,yellow,orange,and one called Chocolate drop :0). Also growing squash,cucumbers,lettuces and spinach,okra,artichokes,kolorabi,swiss chard,egg plant etc.

We just ordered 30 chicks for our future free range egg hens. Plus we will be selling decorative yard stuff, Such as Brads butterfly houses and my teacup bird feeders. Its been a stressfull couple months.My apartment is cluttered with plants untill they can be hardened off and planted outside. Plus I have to find cheap bushel baskets somwhere,which Im finding impossible to find!!

 

 

 

A few of our plants almost ready for transplanting. We had to put a bunch of old tables together to hold them in my kitchen.I will be so happy when They can go outside!

 

 

 

 

New seedlings. Mostly Heirloom tomatoes,As well as some other things. Oh and no I am unable to use my washer and dryer at this time LOL. I just walk over to my moms next door now and us hers lolol...

And one of my favorite plants to start...Coleus. They add so much color! I will be starting and selling these at the market all summer

How fantastic! lol, and I feel a bit of your pain. A portion of my apartment is unusable until I can put all of the plants outside!

Coleus is great; I've always loved the colored leaves.

Wow, you certainly have been busy, Susy! I'm not good at growing things, but I picked up a variety pack of pepper seeds (it has several varieties in it, in theory), heirloom beefsteak tomatoes, mixed sunflowers, and marigolds to plant inside, then transfer outside.

wow good for you I hope you do well! I started my tomatoes by inside, the rest said I could do out side, for the baskets have you tried freecycle or your local lowes or home depot? Also, try locating a farm and offer to purchase some, they probably buy them in bulk :) good luck in your expedenture

Wow, you got some healthy looking plants started. If I start them indoors, they grow too fast and get too leggy.

I just love seeing all your seedlings, growing like mad! A few weeks more and I'll be seeing some of these at my local farmer's markets! Yay!

I want to do the farmers market but with my crafts....just haven't gotten up the nerve to pay the fee and the thought of how early I have to get there to set up...

Your seedlings are doing great! Luckily we have a lot of room here so we moved one of the extra dining room tables in front of the bay windows and put all the trays of seedlings there.
