Walgreens Shopping 4/20/09

Yipee!  I got a ride to Walgreens this week to do some bargain shopping.

Here is something that gets me....each week I read the good deal alerts on several blogs and such....and every week it never fails they will list coupons to go with the sales...coupons that I don't have!  This week I didn't have the Mitchum coupon they said was out or the Angel Soft coupon.  I looked all through my binder, my alphabet box and the uncut supplements.   I realize that all areas don't get the same coupons.

Now...here is my 1st transaction from today:

Windex on sale for $3 and I used a .75 coupon along with Nature's Source window and surface cleaner on sale for $3 and I used the last of my free coupons from my bzz campaign.  When you bought the 2 cleaners you got a $1 register rewards to use on your next purchase.

Skintimate shave gel on sale for $2.99, got $3 register rewards.

4-Mentos gum on sale 2 for $2.  I used 4-$1 coupons making them free.

2-Dawn dish soap .99 using Walgreens store coupon and combined it with 2-.25 coupons making them .74 each.

Bazooka bubble gum .79 (splurge buy for Jasmine)

Mitchum Deoderant on sale for $2.99 and got $2 register rewards

12 roll package of Angel Soft for $3 with Walgreens coupon.

I also used a $3.50 register rewards from my last shopping trip on this order.

(I found out today that you can use food stamps at Walgreens...something I wish I knew LONG ago!!)

Total was $4.79 in food stamps and $7.48 in cash....plus got a total of $6 in register rewards.

2nd Transaction:

3-12 packs of soda on sale for $12 (was supposed to be $11 according to the ad but we were in a hurry to get out to pick up kids from school.)  I used the $3 register rewards from the 1st transaction.

They had the Peeps marked down to just 10 cents each!  We probably went overboard as we bought 12 packages of Peeps and then 3 marshmallow rabbits also 10 cents each.

My total was $10.50 in food stamps and .21 cash.

Total on both trip was $22.98 and I have the $8 total in register rewards to use on my next shopping trip.

I went home with a $5, $2 and $1 register rewards for my next shopping.  But, here is where I messed up.  I think I could have used the other $2 and $1 register rewards from my first transaction right?  I believe anyway that it doesn't matter what the cost of the item is as long as you have 1 item in your cart that you don't have a manufacture's coupon for each register rewards that you can use them....am I right in thinking this?

I'm happy with what I got and know that I can just keep getting better at this shopping the more I do it.
