Just when you thought Sarah Palin was the best material for SNL coming from the GOP. Apparently, she is smarter than many of them (no wonder they thought she could be VP). All it takes is for these guys to reflect on something that has anything to do with having some basic knowledge outside of "cut taxes, reduce the size of government, bomb - bomb - bomb Iran."
Talking about climate change, Republican minority leader stated that CO2 had nothing to do with climate change. That was not even the dangerous part because many wingnuts actually believe that. To support his nutty claim, he offered as evidence COW FLATULENCE. That's right. According to this GOP leader, CO2 is safe because cows fart all the time. Oh, and human beings exhale all the time too. He did not address human's flatulence however. "How about human beings fart congressman," I was hoping the interviewer to counter act? "Is that carbon monoxide as oppose to carbon dioxide? What is the percentage of, say pig farting on the total CO2 emmision? How do we curb that?"
I don't know if these guys are really stupid or simply pretending to be to appeal to the stupid who they believe will be voting in droves.
His exact words.
The idea that carbon dioxide is a carcinogen that is harmful to our environment is almost comical. Every time we exhale, we exhale carbon dioxide. Every cow in the world, you know when they do what they do you've got more carbon dioxide."
You know what's not 'ALMOST' comical Mr. Boehner, watching you say it:

What was really striking is that he was so uninformed. Not only did he make several statements counter to scientific consensus, but he appeared to be making it up on the spot (or was caught off guard by the question and was trying to remember his official Inhofe-approved talking points).
No one expects John Boehner to be an expert on climate change (or for that matter, cows), but as the minority leader, i.e., the guy in charge of formulating the minority position on every issue, he seemed not to know anything at all. And it's not like climate change is an issue that is on the back burner, the majority party and the president have been talking about how important it is to have climate change legislation (cap and trade or some other policy vehicle) this year. It's a big priority for Congress and the President, so at this stage there really isn't any excuse for not having some sort of position.
Really bizarre.
Except for a litmus test voter (abortion, religion) anyone making less than $250,000 who votes for a Republican is voting against himself.
I have no idea why they put that in "explore".

Livestock are still a problem just in terms of grain and water consumption, even ignoring greenhouse gas emissions.
Somehow I suspect he wouldn't.
