Ok I came across this article on yahoo about this family making 250,000.They are complaining about obamas new tax plan.Which will tax them about 1/3 of their paycheck.Well I do see this as being unfair as people making over a million pay the same in taxes.
this is what the tax bracket looks likes:
10%: from $0 to $8,025
15%: from $8,026 to $32,550
25%: from $32,551 to $78,850
28%: from $78,851 to $164,550
33%: from $164,551 to $357,700
35%: $357,701 and above
This is the way it should be in my opinion
if you earn under 10k you put 1% in taxes
If you earn under 25k you put 5% in taxes
if you earn under 50k you put 10%in taxes
if you earn under 100k you put 15% in taxes
If you earn under 250k you put 20% in taxes
if you earn under 500k you put 25% in taxes
if you earn under 1 mil you put 40% in taxes
If you earn under 5 mil you put 50% in taxes
if you earn under 10 mil you put 60% in taxes
anything above that should pay 75%in taxes
What do you think?
Also I think the government should be allowed a certain amount a year. And give the rest to people in need like charitys and such.
and we should also have a limit of how big people houses should be for enviorment reasons. No one should have a house over 5000 sqaure feet.
I will take any comments on what you think negative or positive.
I know this is the land of the free.everyone has a right to live they way they want. But sometimes some people live way too excessively. If their going to make laws why not make them fair to people as well as this enviorment.

Anyway, people complain about that. But I think it stinks that 40% of Americans don't pay income tax at all. Sure, they might have some taken out of their checks, but then they get 2, 3, 4 times what they put in back as a refund. Um...that's not a refund, that's welfare.
If everyone paid 10% it would be fair.
What many people don't get is that when you're talking about someone making $250,000, you're often talking about the small businessman who files as an individual rather than as a business. Small businesses are the ones who hire most of the people in the US, and we're taxing them to death. It's absurd.
If it's supposed to be patriotic - according to Biden and Obama and lots of liberal Democrats - then why aren't 40% of Americans clamoring to pay their fair share?
DN that sounds like a good deal to me.I wish i could find a good deal like that.that law that kids over 10 needing their own room is ridiculos.I had to share a bedroom with my sister till I was 14.Mabye if they were opposite sexes they shouldn't share a room over 10.That is worse then my law of having a house more then 5000 square feet. But Im glad you did what you had to do to keep your family.
all of ours are full and being used..lol
When we were in the small house(2-1) I had my girl in 1 room and the boys in the other and i slept in the living room. State said that was not a good thing. I think its stupid too the 10 rule, but they dont play when they say move you have to move or losoe them. I did get lucky a little old lady owned this house and it was too big for her to keep up with. I had to ask her 5 times how much she wanted to make sure i heard her right. LOL
But about the taxes i think there should be a luxury tax, if you want nice things pay for them:)
I hate to see people blowing money on none sence.
I think their should be a luxury tax too.
Diana no I don't really like celebritys.I have my reasons.Thats for another post though.
Of course we all would live in luxury and they still would be able to but I don't like seeing people spend wasteful when their are starving people around the world.

yes I agree Nora why should the middle class have to suffer..Millonares would still be making millions each year so why should they fork over a little more? And fair tax wouldn't work because if it was 10% the millionares would be giving less then they did before. If they made it higher then the poor would only get poorer. So it would just big a huge dilemma anyway you look at it.I wish I did have more money at least enough to buy me a nice house with a yard.Enough to live comfortably.
In the 50s under Republican President Eisenhower, the highest tax rate was in the 90 + percent range. Nobody didn't work and earn whatever they could because of the high taxes. The economy was going gangbusters. A family could live quite well on one middle-class income, own a nice home, pay their reasonable medical bills (with catestrophic insurance only for the really expensive procedures), pay for college without oppressive loans to repay, have the kinds of governmental services such as police, schools, libraries, roads, etc. It has in fact been postulated that people thus taxed would work even more to make up for what the government was taking -- not that they would be happy about it, but we can all find something to complain about.
Also, are you aware that when you say someone is taxed 75% for making over x dollars that in reality they are only taxed that 75% for whatever they make over the minimum for that tax bracket. For example if earnings up to 40,000 are taxed 20% and earnings up to 100,000 are taxed 30%, someone making $100,000 pays 20% on the first 40,000 and 30% on the next 60,000.
Actually there are "neighborhood associations" that do just that.
