Dawn Johnsen is President Obama's nominee for Assistant Attorney General. This position requires someone who can be unbiased in their duty and this woman is far from unbiased in the way she does things.
She has compared pregnancy to slavery and calls mothers "losers!" How does she think she got here? Was her mother a loser? I guess so since she spawned this monster!
I don't know about the rest of the women on Gather but I see the ability to carry and give birth to a child as a privilege from God not slavery. I also think that as we are very near to Mother's Day, that mothers all over the country would be interested to know this woman considers them losers.
My perspective is that Dawn Johnsen is the loser! She is so far over the top on her views that she is a threat to women who give life out there if she gets this job! I find her views to be abominable and definitely not the sort of views we want in the office that enforces our laws.
If you feel the same, I highly recommend you go to go http://www.sba-list.org and go to the Take Action section and sign the petition to send to your representatives.

I will say that I am glad my days of pregnancy and nursing are over because it has been a long six years. BUT, I know that I will soon miss the days of being such a primary part in my children's lives. Right now they depend on me for almost everything and while it is exhausting it is a choice that I made. No one forced me into this "slavery". I serve my family with willingness because I know I am investing in our future leaders!
Thank you for posting to sparealine.gather.com
I never felt having children was for me, obviously neither has anyone in my family, as my parents were only children except for an aunt who was an afterthought, at least I am not burdened by any family any more! thanks mum!
Why do you all feel you have to bring child upon child into this overburdend world. Who needs to carry on their bloodline, there are plenty of orphans needing homes if you must!

I am not a mother, but I do, too.
