my own personal tip is to make sure you get enough Vitamin D.
If you spend at least 10 mins outside in the sun each day, you will
get Vitamin D from the sun.
If you don't get out much, take a Vitamin D supplement, like one
from Nature Made. My husband and I both make sure we get
enough Vitmain D, as well as our daughter.
Vitmain D will help keep you healthy.
2. Get up 20 minutes early for "me" time.
My suggestion:
To sleep in total darkness at night to help regulate your body clock.
Reduce stress by doing no cost activities in town.
My tip plan meals in advance that are healthy and mean more time with family and not in the kitchen for hours every day.
Plan Ahead – Before you hit the sack, it’s a good idea to plan out a few of the things you need to do the next morning. Pick out what clothes you want to wear, make sure your keys and purse are where you know they’ll be the next day, and even prepare what you’d like to eat for breakfast. You’ll find that you won’t be scrambling and scatterbrained in the A.M.
I think this would really help me. I don't work, but I need to get my son ready for school and my mind is always all over the place. Sometimes I am just so tired and feel so down that I have trouble getting much done. If I do it before bed I won't have to worry as much.
Take Your Vitamins – By taking a multivitamin each morning, you can make sure your body is getting a complete array of nutrients and minerals it needs to feel your best. Staying healthy is important to establishing a good mood, and taking vitamins is one part of maintaining good health.
I often forget to take my vitamins. If I make my plans the night before and have them ready in the morning I will be more likely to take them. I know that not having the right vitamins can make me feel worse throughout the day but sometimes I start the day poorly and can't even make myself take vitamins. Hopefully when I give planning ahead a shot it will really help!
To start my day off right I need a little bit of quiet "me" time. If I can wake up before the kids and get some laundry started, dishes washed and my coffee or tea made then maybe Gather a little or watch the rest of a movie I feel so much better for the rest of the day. I know I probably won't get this time at any other point during the day so it's important for me to get it when I first wake up. I'm in a sour mood all day if I can't get a little alone time!
Eating Right, and eating breakfast, as well as taking life in stride.
My tip is to start the day off with stretching, sweet smells that make you happy not all smells work for everone, some its orange, others it could be linin, or even the laundry detergent. Another tip is to hug those you love and let them know it, that way you start your day with love and that is always a plus. For the choc. lovers take only ONE bite of Dark choc, with your breakfast, its not cheating, its giving you a bit of heaven in the morning. When your feeling great make notes then hid them all around when you clean or need a picker uper you might just find one that can make your day the best...... Praying in the morning is also key, putting on your armour and setting your angels loose.....
One of my own tips for the morning is to not drink more than one cup of coffee.
My suggestion is during that "me" time to find a nice journal and a pen you like how it writes and write for ten minutes. It doesn't have to be profound, it may be sometimes, other times it may be making a list for what you think is important for the day.
Tip #1 Healthy Breakfast – Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of my day.Tip Tip #2 Singing in the Shower; but very close to that was 'Smelling the roses'.
Definitely Smell the Roses. We start each morning out by greeting the birds, ducks and geese out back. We feed them and say good morning. Starting the day out on this happy note sets the mood for the rest of the day.
My own suggestion is to make sure you have a nice breakfast, ideally with someone you enjoy to spend some time quality time with. A good conversation makes the day look bright. If I don't have my husband to share breakfast with, I enjoy breakfast with a good book, reading a chapter or two.
I am trying to eat healthier too, doubling up on the veggies and seafood! I always try to eat a good breakfast, which includes a healthy muffin and a bit of fruit. Instead being chained to my computer all day, I try and get away for some exercise!
I started a new routine last week and really enjoy it so far,I make myelf a strawberry-banana smoothie with added fiber(Benefibre)and drink it while walkng my new puppy. It gets breakfast, exercise and me time combined all in one.
Healthy eating- This is a big struggle for me. I love chocolate. And I have the munchies a lot of the time. I guess I feel like it's okay because I'm not overweight, even though I know it is not the healthiest choice.
Second tip: Don't forget to eat the breakfast, because it is the most important meal of the day
"Me" time and "yoga" time are the two most important tips for my life. I recently added a cable television on demand service, which includes on-demand yoga classes. It's amazing what just a little bit of time on the yoga mat can do for circulation and mood. As for my "me" time, make mine a quiet protein- and nutrient-rich breakfast.
RE: use some of your own creativity to suggest a personal tip to share with the rest of the community
As for my tip, start the day by checking off a few items on your "to do" list before getting sidetracked into other things. You'll be amazed not only at what you can accomplish but how good you feel about getting it done.
My tip...when making your well balanced dinner :) make extra of it for lunch the next day. You won't be stressed in the morning trying to run around and get all your stuff together. And it will stop you from getting your lunch out of the vending machine or the closest fast food restaurant.
*Get a good night's sleep
My suggestion or tip would be to get a slep number bed...LOL
My hubby and I splurged and got one with our tax refund and I have never slept better. I recently had a hysterctomy and was having constant night sweats. Now with a special stay cool mattress and the abili to make it as soft or firm as I need it...I sleep like a baby all thru the night!
"me" time and plan ahead:)
2. Get Some Comedy
I personally think I need to take some me time. Just sit back and relax for a little while and just enjoy life.
1) Healthy Breakfast- Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day. Instead of driving through the drive-thru on your way to work, set yourself up for success by eating a healthy breakfast. Fresh fruit or whole grain cereals can give your body the calories and nutrients you need to get going on the right foot.
2) Exercise- Just doing a little bit of light exercise in the morning is not only a great way to energize yourself, but it can also help in burning unwanted calories before you even put any in your body. Even doing some light stretching or jumping jacks after you wake up will get your blood flowing and give you some vim and vigor before you even hit the shower.
My personal tip? Get light. Light the sun shine in; this will help wake you up, and sunlight does help boost one's mood.
Exercise is also a great tip because I find on days I do exercise I'm less stressed and get better sleep .
personal tip- Doing yoga in the morning out side where you can benefit from the fresh air and morning sun . doing yoga out side is very stress relieving because you can hear the birds singing and smell the lovely smell of the morning sun warming the earth . Even if you cant do yoga just going out to do some simple stretching is a wonderful way to start the day and keep you stress free. a good trick is to visualize your morning ritual periododically through out the day at stressful times while takings deep cleansing breaths .
2. Get up a little earlier for me time - I have no idea what I would do if I didn't have this little time for just me. Sometimes I relax with my coffee and watch something I recorded, then sometimes I just get on the computer. No matter what I do, it's my time and it's so great to start your day off like this.
When you get up in the morning, say to yourself that you'll have a grand day. Stretch and great your morning with a smile! Then make sure before you leave the house, have a good breakfast, even if you only have toast with peanut butter. At least you are getting protein in your system, and your body will thank you for it.
MY Tip-
Try to make sure your kids get a good nights sleep too. It makes their days easier and in turn YOURS too!
1- Get up early for "me" time
2- Read a novel (I've read 11 books in the past month-it relieves stress by immersing your
thoughts elsewhere!)
2. Sing in the shower!
For me, another of the tips listed is crucial: Eat a healthy breakfast.
Also helpful for me is to get up at about the same time each day. However, if I wake up early and can't get back to sleep, it helps me to go ahead and get up and get something done! :)
I also think exercise is a great suggestion. I don't fit it in as often as I like. I think the suggestion on the website of even working in light exercise is great. It sets the tone for a healthy day of taking care of your body.
My own personal favorite tip is to spend unrushed morning time with loved ones. My husband and I love to wake up early enough that we can sit at the table and enjoy breakfast together, rather than rushing out the door with a poptart in our hands! I try to whip up something quick and easy, but healthy (fruit salad, parfait, hash browns, sausage, pancakes, etc). This little bit of morning time helps me feel like we're getting in just a bit more quality time together. It's also nice to spend the morning together, when we don't have as many concerns on our minds, rather than sitting down to dinner, when complaints and aches/pains from the day are weighing down on us.
and getting enough sleep
eating a healthy breakfast (already do and the difference it makes is amazing folks)
planning ahead (I really need to start doing this more, my days go much smoother when I do)
my tip, ME TIME IS SOOO IMPORTANT at anytime....take some everyday to keep it all in perspective!
1. Get up 20 minutes before your children do so that you can have that as your “me time.” It allows an opportunity to meditate, get your thoughts together or just enjoy a cup of coffee before the craziness of the day begins.
2. Spend as much time as you can on a yoga mat. Fifteen to twenty minutes, three times per week, provides an opportunity to catch your breath and gain some balance. It will be surprising how stretching for that amount of time will benefit you during the week.
My own personal tip/suggestion for all of my Gather friends:
Take small steps towards BIG changes!
get enough sleep
My tip - Clean out the clutter in your life! It'll set you free!
2. Get up 20 minutes early for "me" time.
I turn the alarm clock so it faces the corner so the light does not illuminate and the room stays dark to regulate the internal clock.
1. Plan ahead. I like to think about my day the night before so I am ready for it!
2. Exercise. Even a few minutes of stretching seems to 'wake' my body up for the day.
Personally, I always need a little 'me' time when I wake up. Too much chattering drives me nuts. Plus, a nice warm shower or a few quiet moments in the spa really help!
