It's confirmed...Christopher had a broken shoulder and also a type 2 shoulder separation. There is a piece broken off his scapula, but it's in a good position to heal.
A type 2 shoulder separation is the partial or complete separation of two parts of the shoulder: the collarbone (clavicle) and the end (acromion) of the shoulder blade (scapula). In a type II shoulder separation, the acromioclavicular (AC) ligament is completely torn, and the coracoclavicular (CC) ligament is either partially torn or not injured. In Pher's case, it's partially torn.
If you'd like to see what I mean visually, http://www.shouldersolutions.com/ac_3.php and look at type 2.
This means Pher is in pain, which we knew....and he's stuck in a sling for a few weeks. The good news is he doesn't need surgery....that's a big relief. If it was any worse, then he would've needed surgery...and that would make for a long, boring summer. Pher's going to have to be careful for the next 6 -8 weeks, but he can remove the sling in another 2....and he has to take pain killers for the next 2 weeks, wether he wants to or not. The meds will help with the swelling and hopefully, help speed up the healing process. Right now, he can't move his shoulder at all without pain. That also means I've lost my lawn mower for a few weeks....

Hope it's better soon Pher
But you know how it is with injuries: regardless of how bad it is, somebody will say, "It's a good thing it wasn't a lot worse!"
Poor Pher.
