Abu Zubaydah, the poster child for waterboarding, was according to CIA reprorts, was waterboarded 83 times. Obama wants it banned as ineffective. The liberal media points out that it took 83 times of strapping this man to a board and holding him underwater, to get him to talk.
Abu Zubayday, is an Al Qaeda operative. So? Is waterboarding ineffectual? It did take 83 times of waterboarding to get him to talk.
But talk he did. Is the suffering of a man who wants to die a glorious death by killing innocent men, women, and children, not worth 83 waterboarding events?
Torture is wrong, but so is the glorious self-suicidal religious whack-o nonsense and hatred of our children.
As for the liberals who decry this practice, it is your life style that is most in danger by Al Queda. Al Queda believes women should be buried alive or worse for wearing the wrong outfit.
So waterboard away. Does Obama who bows to kings, and gets anti-American books handed to him by men who vow their hatred of country know what he's talking about?
He's running a popularity contest for himself. He needs his own talk show or something, and leave the safety of our country to real men.

Second I dont blame Chavez for hating Bush or america under Bush....we f*ked with him constatly and tried to start a revolution in his country to over throw him.
As far as bowing to the Saudi King...please Bush did everything short of french kissing the guy and I personally didnt have a problem with it.
Waterboarding is torture and I wont support it.
Or maybe we should just end this whole thing, and nuke the areas affected by them, and thus be done with it.
Its always the soldiers and not the comanders or leaders that get tortured.
Much like American soldiers other countries soldiers are just doing there jobs.
While we might not agree with their country there are many that dont agree with the US for invading Iraq and Afganistan should they be encouraged to torture OUR soldiers because of a different set of belief systems?
Your reasoning is beyond arrogance, it lacks any reality at all.
Have you ever been to Venezuela? I have. A revolution is exactly what those poor people need. They live in such destitution. They live in the mountains, with garbarge for walls. Although, I'm sure you'd say that's our fault too. They have two classes. The very wealthy of a few, and the masses who live as described. I was there. It's a horror, and that 's what Chavez is, and Obama must know it if I know it. No pictures as it's forbidden. So? They hate us, for what we have, not for what we do. They hate us for what is perceived, by books such as the one handed and accepted by Obama.
And yes you are correct on the fact torture has always been there. It is a fact of warfare, and one that does help to some extent when all else fails. Today we use much more of the "Soft" approach than we do Torture, but that is not to say it is not used.
Common soldiers get tortued not for what they know but for the effect it will have on the people.
BAGHDAD, Iraq - The U.S. military recovered the bodies Tuesday of two missing soldiers from an area it said was rigged with explosives. An Iraqi official said the Americans were tortured and killed in a “barbaric” way.
An insurgent group claimed the new leader of al-Qaida in Iraq executed the men personally, but it offered no evidence. The U.S. military did not confirm whether the soldiers died from wounds suffered in an attack Friday or were kidnapped and later killed

My former boss was a Vietnam POW he was a staff SGT knew nothing no military secrets nothing yet he was held for 2 years and you should see the scars from the torture he endured.
Now I know that you Cons are supposed to be brainwashed but dont you think you are taking the sheeple thing a little too far.
As you so blind not to realize that torture isnt used just for gaining military secrets but to make an impression.
Give me a break.
Lori....psssst....Lori, over here. No! The other one, yep, that's me. That's what Dan said, i.e., Irregulars did this for sport, which is a common thing with the terrorists we are fighting now. They do sometimes use it to show an example of
This comment...pay particular attention to the first line...read it a couple times if you fail to get it the first K sweetness.
Lori, that is just plain stupid. No one tortures the common soldier except a fool; because they don't know anything. You always torture those that know something. Often in many regular armies, Officers will dress like common sodiers to try ahd throw the other side off, but that does not make them the common soldier.
Your reasoning is beyond arrogance, it lacks any reality at all.

Getting it now sugar.
But sugar dumpling! He came back and said Keith, I understand that the Grunts are often tortured not for information, but either for sport, or to set an example of.
I know I've got a little punkin' head an all but I think he was calling those who torture low rank military fools.
Did you say you had sugar? Oh boy!
But how about Singapore. No one lives as well as we do, andthat's why their jealous and hate us.
We cross posted which means our comments were made at roughly the same time. So when I posted the comment which seems to have your undies in a wad I didnt see his comment as it was done again roughly the same time.
What I would be concerned about if I were you...and for the record I am glad I am not you....is that he first says and I quote:
Lori, that is just plain stupid. No one tortures the common soldier except a fool; because they don't know anything. You always torture those that know something.
But then he says and I quote:
Keith, I understand that the Grunts are often tortured not for information, but either for sport, or to set an example of.
So which is it? No regular soldier is tortured but officers or some regular soldiers are tortured.
Or maybe between 1:24 pm and 1:53 pm he learned that all soldiers not just officers are tortured.
This has to be a new flip flop record....even Obama and McCain didnt flip flop as fast as Dan.
Our public educational system is in shambles and shameful...Cuba has a better educational system than we do.
Dont tell me we are Hated because we LIVE better than any other country...we dont.

Are my undies in a wad again? Dang, I thought I straightened that out two days ago.
And that's my final answer. It still makes sense to me the way Dan put it but he can defend his own stuff. I'm OUTTA here!
Here's a question; Did it work on that radical religious nut-job that was undermining the Roman government over two thousand years ago? I mean they sure tortured and humiliated the heck out of him. Do you think he squealed on the secret cells of his movement? Did torturing and publicly executing him solve the Roman's problem?
Does torture work?
Is it really the kind of thing we want a reputation for doing?
I don't think what these people plan or have done to innocent people is right
but then do 2 wrongs make a right?
Or do you say an eye for an eye?
What about the US soldiers that are prisoners of war, I guarantee you that they are treated like royalty.
Again back to what is the correct stance on this...
I don't know.
Mooch
I wouldnt waste my time defending Dan.
I always thought you were pretty knowledgeable and even though we dont agree I respected you for your opinion.
Dan on the other hand not so much. He is so full of anger and vile and he uses no logic.
I think you are giving him too much credit for meaning in his nonsense comment.
He has no clue what he is trying to say.
I would probably admit to doing things I never did if I were tortured and I'm bettting you would too.
You people talk about how you are afraid Obama and his staffers are trying to re-write the constitution when Bush and his ilk broke it.
Torture is unconstitutional and immoral.
I think this started out with Venezuela.
What is snowboarding?
I am no fan of George Bush or JOhn McCain, but I never doubted their loyalty to our country.
The fact is you said that torture is always done to the common soldier. I pointed out, that it is targetted by legit militaries towards officers because they have knowledge the common troops do not have. The Viet cong that used this were both uncontrolled regulars and irregulars that were never fully controled. The Terrorists are not legit troops, and most of what we are fighting over there are terrorists, so they have no regulations on what they do.
Now that you have shown your hate for the troops and this country, by making our troops on the terrorist level like the rest of your Liberal friends. I hope you feel better about yourself.
And Dan R, I am proud to be a liberal.
You contradict your own contradictions yet supposedly I dont know what I am talking about.
In the future it would be easier if only one of your personalities would answer on a thread.
And, just a side note...I did three tours in Vietnam and in all my years have never met a REAL spec ops person who admitted to being Spec Ops, let alone brag about it! However, I HAVE met hundreds of "wannabes" who were clerk typists in Saigon and they tell some pretty macho self promoting stories in a bar or to impress the women! Give me a break!
As far as Obama and the book he got from Chavez. I won't blame him for being naive enough to fall for a propaganda stunt like that because everybody knew he was an apologist when they voted for him. However, his trip to the America's summit made him look ridiculous. He looked like a kid, grinning ear to ear, that was happy to finally be invited to a party by the neighborhood bullies. He made an ass out of himself and worse yet, America.
It is racist comments like that that make people targets of hate. Using words like raghead just makes you look like some kind of terrorist yourself.
So I guess the water boarding was just for fun, since they got nothing more from him after it started.
That's why Cubans float across the sea in inner tubes for better opportunities in the big bad USA.
LOL I wondered how long before that piece of crap lie was brought up.
I have watched valid documentories, and seen real information on that.
I don't understand how one can get to the conclusion that because it didn't work well on one person, it is altogether ineffective. That's such a leap.
Anyhow, I think that there is a lot of debate about whether Waterboarding is torture or whethar waterbarding is not torture.
