“What are we doing?” John asked as the worship began. The angel held out a bulletin, so John could see the words and know his place.
1. Welcome, it said. Then
2. Call to worship
3. Readings
4. Incense ceremony
5. Prayers
6. Teaching and
7. Praise
But the welcome was the opening of seven seals. Seven trumpet blasts called the people. Seven readings, seven bowls of incense, seven prayers: all sevens.
“Why?” asked John.
“Because seven is the number for God’s plan, for its perfect unfolding from God to man, and for worship, perfectly offered in a perfect heaven.”
