I think its a dove? Help me please gather friends. Where are you John? It was very high up and far away. So I couldn't get a better photo. If this one doesn't work I will try for another shot if he comes back.
Yep, mourning dove. I love them. I had one that nested in my pine tree every year right at eye height... she would let me touch her (her mate on the other hand, went absolutely nuts when I even got near) - they would have at least four clutches every year. They are hogs in my garden! I plant beans, they eat beans, I plant more beans, they eat more beans! Last year ended up with only a sparse half row of beans! After 3 replantings!!! The hogs at the feeder are a toss up between the darn starlings and the blue jays!
