On my bike ride yesterday, one of my stops was the old County Courthouse, which was built and used in the 1800's, up through the 1950's. In the 50's, a new "modern" one was built, which is still in use.
This building was turned into a museum, which I've been in once. It's free on Wednesdays, so I think this summer, I'll take the kids to it one day, since we can walk or bike to it pretty easily.
The courthouse is painted orange, but aside from that, it looks like a typical courthouse from that era. Many counties boast them, some still in use, others not.

All they have here in Ann Arbor are fairy doors. Unless the residents are holding out on me...
