Edible Book Fest 2009

Well, I made it out to the Edible Book Fest after all, and it was great. I really wasn't sure what to expect to see when I drove over, but what I found was simply amazing! Book enthusiasts both young and old had gathered together to share their favorite tales through baking. There were over 20 cakes, cookies, and pies on display with themes  ranging from War and Peace to If You Give a Cat a Cupcake. Instead of me gibbering on and on about the food, you should take a look for yourself!

The food was great and the company was even better. Everyone was shareing their baking secrets as well as talking about their latest reads. A number of families with their kids stopped by, and wow, if you could have seen the smiles on their faces light up. Sure, maybe it was just the sight of all the cakes and cookies that got them so excited, but wouldn't you be excited if you got to eat a frog cookie from Harry Potter? All in all, it was a great time and I really enjoyed getting to see how the Edible Book Fest unfolded. Who knows, maybe next year I'll think of my own submission!
