
“You wanted to worship at the Temple?” said the voice. John nodded. “Well, now you can.”
So he stood outside the Holy of Holies, gazing down at the crowds gathered below. Altar fires blazed hot and high while priests prepared to sacrifice the lamb. Angels raised the sacred scroll, perfectly sealed seven times, and sang for joy, “Let the festival begin.”
But no one could open the scroll to read. It burned the fingers of priest and angel alike, until the dead lamb rose and climbed down from the altar. Then the seals fell open and the tale was told.
