Introducing our newest family member: Mephistopheles (Photo Essay)

Well, Jake and I were bummed because our families aren't around and we're not allowed to get a cat or a dog, so we settled on the next best thing: a bunny! Since he's my bunny, I decided to name him Mephistopheles (Staphi for short). Jake gets to name our next bunny (he's already chosen the name Asriel).

Anyway, we've had Staphi for a couple of weeks now. We're trying to litter box train him and he does go in it about 75% of the time, but we're working to get that up more. We've also got a harness to take him for a walk, but we have yet to do that. ^_^

We let him wander around the living room the other day, too, and he loves being able to hop around such a big space and come sit with us on the couch and watch shows...hehe.

Awww what a precious bunny! He is like a calico cat with floppy ears. Love the name! I had bunnies some years back. A dwarf named Lacey, and what turned out to be a jack rabbit, originally named Babs. I got them when they were babies and not sure how to tell the sex. I thought I had 2 girls. But as they started to grow, I noticed Babs would always try to, excuse my words, hump on Lacey LOL. I soon figured out Babs was a boy so I just added 'Mr.' Then when he got so much bigger than Lacey (he was bigger than the average cat!) and could jump as high as 5 feet into the air I knew he was no drawf rabbit! When he would snatch meat from my plate I really knew he should be in the wild! Eventually he died and I gave Lacey away. Had some great times with those bunnies!
