PERSISTENCE WINS THE DAY
This is an update in my ongoing attempt to secure a contract to publish my memoir called: A Head of Changes: My Odyssey Treating Heroin Addicts in the Sixties.
I have managed to find an editor at a publishing house who has read the first three chapters and likes the concept. So I am encourage that maybe - just maybe - my book will fly. However I have learned, if nothing else, to stay grounded and expect nothing. It is out of my hands. Except for the ironic twist that follows.
Along with my memoir I have sent out a proposal for a book on the nature and use of coincidences (synchronicities) - the results of a 40 year investigation of these remarkable events.
In this connection I report the following - which captures the essence of the power of just a few words muchly hoped for. I am preoccupied by the following quotation I received yesterday:
"Thank you very much for your patience while your book proposal for Demystifying Meaningful Coincidences (Synchronicities): The Evolving Self, The Personal Unconscious, and The Creative Process was under review. We feel the book would make a significant contribution, and we have agreed to offer you a contract to publish the book."
Now I have a ton of scutt work to close the deal: i.e.foot notes, bibliography, index, camera ready copies. However no complaints as this kind of preoccupation is fun.
I also called the editor who is reading the memoir to tell him the news of my good fortune in the hope that my contract will enhance my credibility. Wow- would that be a noteworthy experience to have two books published simultaneousy?

Now, I'll be able to tell my friends...I knew you when...
Major hugs and congratulations.
DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN! They're closely related enough that they're gonna wind up competing for the same dollars. We're ALL rooting for your success. Be careful you don't let them sabotage you.
I'm all about the synchronicity stuff. Happens all the time with me. I just don't know what to make of them most of the time.
