I love Annapolis, Maryland - the wonderful old city with riverscapes and bay views on every side.
Over the years, I have had several occasions to visit the ancient capitol building, the Naval Academy, and the splendid campus of St. John's College (still offering a curriculum based upon the "Great Books"). There are antique shops, boat shows, and fabulous restaurants in abundance.
Annapolis is an old city, and the capitol of Maryland.

I haven't been in Annapolis for nine years, but the buildings were there when the century began.
I am moved by the beauty of these old towns, Marilee, as you are.
I am a little concerned that you seem to forget where you live. :-)
I don't think that odd, Kris. Both cities are very old, and have preserved a skyline that reflects their age.
Precisely, Trish.
I once had the opportunity to experience all three in rapid succession - returned from boating to a fine dinner in an ancient tavern.
I visited Annapolis for the first time two years ago, Peter.
I loved the town and saw some of the sites (St. Anne's Church, the Carroll Mansion) that you have included here. I enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the waterfront, as you mentioned above.
