This has kind of weighed on my mind since it first happened. I'm normally the type of person who looks at what celebrities do, and take it with a grain of salt. Sure, they mess up- but who doesn't? We all do dumb things from time to time, we just don't have cameras documenting it.
But, over the weekend, there was a screw up of epic proportions- or at least that's how I feel about it. Being someone who can look past a few faults here and there, this just shocked and disgusted me.
Over the weekend, Jamie Foxx was hosting his radio show, which he compares to being "The Black Howard Stern" (his own description, not mine). While he was on it, Miley Cyrus came up. For those who don't know her by that name, she also goes by the name Hannah Montana, a popular pop star for kids. She's also the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus. And, she only JUST turned 16, so keep in mind she's an underage teen.
The comments he made went over the line of being funny or an appropriate way to discuss an underage teenager. His comments included:
"Needs to get a gum transplant"
"Make a sex tape with your daddy"
"Get like Britney Spears... Do some heroin"
"Get some crack in your pipe"
"Catch Chlamydia on a bicycle seat"
So, he takes an underage teen, and decides it's ok to joke about her- not a problem, normally. People can take a joke, right? But, the fact that he suggested she do multiple drugs, make a sex tape with her FATHER, and go out and get a sexually transmitted disease was just WAY over the line of being appropriate behavior.
He did later realize his mistake, and apologize, even going so far as to say that he has a daughter as well, and wouldn't like it if someone said the same about her. What ever possessed him to think it was all right to say that about a minor just boggles my mind.
For that matter, who in their right mind would think that's a funny joke about an adult, either? I guess to be funny, you should suggest drugs, STD's, incest, and plastic surgery. It's no wonder teen girls have such a complex these days, when they have celebrities such as this to look up to.
I have celebrities I dislike, but Jamie Foxx takes the cake. This lewd, disgusting, inappropriate behavior is just tasteless, and unforgiveable.
Miley's father agrees. On the Bonnie Hunt show, he said there was nothing funny about it, and that if he'd have said those things about Jamie Foxx's daughter, Foxx wouldn't have found it funny either.
I agree- there's a line, and Jamie Foxx crossed it. He lost any respect I might have had for him as a person.

His off color comments were in response to her (maybe fame is going to her head) comments.
All celebs have to watch what they say because comments are taken out of context VERY easily.
Gave you a 10.
That is in NO WAY anything that should have triggered a tirade like what Jamie Foxx did about her.
I also think that Billy Ray is allowing Miley to 'grow' up way too fast. Usually there comes a crash after all the splash!
I am praying not, for she is such a beautiful talented girl, but...
Also I agree with Rae's comment.
You bet, it was disgusting to the least.

Everything he said was disgusting... and very degrading, not just to Miley but to woman and young woman in general.
Also something you didn't mention... maybe you didn't even know...
there was a RACIAL comment made during the tirade as well...
it wasn't by him but by one of the guys that was with him, and he laughed and went along with it.
Had it been a caucasian person making a comparable comment with African American undertones, you would have seen it all over the news, etc. but since it was the opposite not much was said about it.
I totally agree with you about why young girls have such a complex these days.
So, I mean the girl is constantly getting herself in trouble.
Although Jamie Foxx IS wrong.
Celebs put their feet in their mouth all the time.
She may say and do stupid things, but she is a stupid teenage, like many teenagers.
I've been called a "cracker" and a "white girl" and once I was treated bad because I told someone that I was part Japanese. All are just as bad (and the last one worse) as what she did, but I never sued anyone or threatened to. Racism isn't alright, but they are trying to push this point too far by suing her like that.
If you behave well, you get to meet well-behaved people along the line. They all know where they meet.
Did Foxx cross the line? Yes. However, he was doing a shock jock-style radio show, and Cyrus obviously pushes certain buttons for him. He isn't the first person to say some nasty things about someone they don't like, and he certainly won't be the last.
