Scientific research is learning about Inflammation and other diseases such as Alzheimer's, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Cancer, and Hypertension. MIT researchers found that chronic inflammation of the intestine or stomach can damage DNA, increasing the risk of cancer. The researchers published evidence of the long-suspected link in the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
About how a year ago I asked my cardiologist to include a 'C-Reactive Protein' test to determine my Inflammation level, in my routine blood test. It was not well known at the time. The result of the first test found my CRP very high. My cardiologist was concerned, but didn't know what could be done to lower it. He had heard that it was becoming known as a predictor of possible heart problem, but the information was scarce.
My primary care physician shrugged her shoulders and said, 'well with your heart disease, I'm not surprised:. She didn't know that it was suspected that a high CRP could lead to heart disease and stroke. Six months later, I again requested the CRP test and this time it was lowered by half. How did that happen if my cardiologist and primary care Dr. didn't know what to do?

You may be able to reverse your CRP level as I did.

Exercise and enough water consumption together go a LONG way to promoting better health.
If you must copy and paste someone else's work, would it be too much trouble to increase the font so us "old folks" can read it?
People who eat few processed foods but who eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables have MUCH less chance of getting diabetes, heart disease, cancer and all other diseases than meat eaters and people who live on a diet of processed foods.
Throw out everything except the fresh fruits and vegetables. And you will lose weight, too and enjoy your life more. Look 10 years younger.
Inflammation and Disease
Lots of researched info there.
I am sorry you had a hard time reading it--it really was my own work and not someone elses. What I did do was highlight, chahed the font and size on the Gather editor. Did you know if you look down on the bottom right of the screen you'll see '100% with a down arrow. Click the arrow and you can increase the size of the font. Fantastic, isn't it?
I'll try editing it again.
maddening platitudes
Before I was pregnant I was on atkins, so the only carbs I was allowed was in veggies, so I got my taste back for salad, green beans etc love veggies, still eAT A LOT OF THEM this helps move toxings out and on Atkins I was eating processed food at small amounts(like their bars) so a lot less chemicals were g oing in my system! I will go back on it after the pregnacy but the baby needs his or her carbs!

There was an interesting program on PBS last night about black people's health. Apparently being black in the US leads to health problems despite even the class one is in. Rich and apparently healthy black women still have a terrible infant mortality, and in fact Americans are horrible on infant mortality compared to the rest of the world.
As to what Kathleen just said, how much of the rest of our economy rests of all of this processed and fast food, and pushing it like drugs onto people to keep it all going?
Mary ... what did you do differently to drop your CRP? Or did your body just overfcome whatever illness you might have had in the background.
Also .. the squidoo site is an article written by you is it not?
Another important way is annual physical exams with follow ups as the doctor suggests.
I am shocked by how many people don't do this, then claim "I was never sick a day in my life..." Cancer can spread quickly and a heart attack or stroke can kill instantly. Regular medical care can diagnose early or prevent these diseases.
Vitamins and supplements such as B-Complex, C, D, E, folic acid, Omega 3 fish oil and others can also keep us healthy and prevent illness.
Mediterranean Diet For Life
and Yes, the article about Inflammation is mine, and I also write about Foods that Heal, Natural Anti-Biotics, Blasting Belly Fat, Healing Spices, and Anti-Aging, to name only a few.
After having a heart attack at 47 and now at 71 with 6 stents in my heart, I think I've learned a thing or two. Hope so anyway.
