It snowed

A lot

And then

Those bushes

By the front door

Died.

 

June

Coming soon

I think

I hope

That maybe

Those bushes

Survived.

 

I’ve seen

Pink shading

Brown and green

Like daybreak

After night.

 

And in

July

I think

They’ll try

Pink flowers

Burning bright.

I know the feeling. With the last two bitter winters we have had, I wondered if anything is going to have made it. Then one lonely daffodil under the dryer vent gave me hope. Keeping my fingers crossed for the lilacs.
