Hey everyone! Here is an easy peasy way to make lots of points (at least 100 per day) here on Gather...
VIEW VIEW VIEW VIEW VIEW VIEW VIEW!
I work from 3-8 p.m. every day.
When I wake up, I view EVERYTHING in my feed (posts, pictures, and videos). I spend a few extra seconds on the things that interest me, but other things I just click it and then automatically click the back button just to make sure my Gather friends get the view from me and I get credit for the view as well.
During my break at work, I view EVERYTHING in my feed up to the point where I viewed when I woke up.
Then, after my shift, I view everything again. One more viewing session before bed!
I never spend more than 1 hour on Gather each day. I comment on the things that make me laugh, interest me, or that I have something to add. Otherwise, I don't comment a whole lot, but let my view speak for itself.
I MIGHT post one, maybe two, posts, videos, or photos each day, maybe not. I've found that it doesn't matter whether I post something or not to make the points. I have found that on days like today, where I didn't post anything until just now (around 11:30 p.m.), I had already made my 100-point goal before even publishing anything!
I know most people don't have much time to spend on Gather, but truly, you don't have to spend much time just viewing content. I usually watch TV and do other things while clicking away. If you can only Gather once a day, spend the majority of that time VIEWING, and you will see a huge jump in your point balance!
I have been using this technique for about 2 weeks now, and without fail, I have always made at least 100 points each day. :) The best part about Gathering this way is that I see almost everything that all of my friends post! I don't miss much here on Gather, even if you don't see me commenting constantly, I am always lurking and seeing what's going on.
Hope this helps someone!

good advice
I know time is limited but saying you dont even read an article is going to bruise some feelings on your friends list even if you read the posts of some of those bruised feelings because people are going to feel their posts dont matter to you.
just my opinion though.
that's how it works.......
Otherwise...I feel like people won't comment on my stuff if I don't comment on theirs~
i understand where you are coming from... truly i do! i have to say, though, that just because i don't pay 100% attention to ALL of my friends posts, i DO pay attention to some of them! for example, you're not gonna enjoy or even really want to look at every single one of my articles or even be interested in the slightest, and that doesn't offend me in the slightest! i know that some people may choose not to go this route, but i figure that by at least giving them a view, i am helping them in some way, even if i don't have anything to say.
also, many videos i say that i "view," but in reality, i usually only watch about half of them from beginning to end... seriously... 5 videos of the same kid doing the same thing is just not interesting to me, BUT, that person on my friends list got a view from me for each one of those videos whether i only watched one all the way through to get the gist or all five of them!
i really don't mind how many comments i get on my content. i'd much rather get TWO very thoughtful comments than TWENTY FIVE comments that simply say "nice post"
when i first started viewing EVERYTHING, i would comment like crazy for awhile... and i would make 100 points...
then i stopped commenting as much with generic stuff and only commenting when i felt compelled to do so... and still only made 100 points! lol!
so, i'm completely convinced that it is the viewing that makes the difference...
Good luck to you though...
I know that people do this and get more points, and it does work. Since I read this, I feel I ought to at least comment and not a generic one either.
It is give and take, if you end up with tons of page views, hardly any comments, then we all know a lot of people are in it for the points, not the social aspect or other aspects of the site, that are good.
If I comment on a friend's post, whatever it might be about, I do read it, and will find something to say, and what you give, always comes back to you. Sorry, I just don't agree.

However I do enjoy looking at pictures. If someone has 25 pictures of the same kid in different poses taking in say 2 mintues as they were doing flipflops and handstands. I would look at them all. But only comment on a few. I don't do it for points. I do iot to be able to view the content. Does that make any sense?
This is great advice
