Did you hear about the latest attack on personal freedoms ? When complete with a helicopter, a half-dead, frail 89 year young gentle soul named John Demjanjuk, was hauled out of his house today by "six immigration officers using a wheelchair." (1)
I knew this man from the church I attended as a child through my late adolescence; in fact one of my best friends was dating the eldest carrying this mans namesake. I am appalled that after all this time with no viable proof a man can be in two places at one time, that he is still 'attacked' for something he did not do. I am of Ukranian blood and proud to say that if what he is allegedly accused of needs justification now then no-one has learned a darn thing about obedience and what happens during war-time. Many people were killed, both gentiles and Jews, and yet its the latter that still has to remind us of how terrible the holocaust was. Get over it already because god was neither there when all were killed and god is nowhere to be found now when this man needs to be saved from the very faction of idiots that cry 'yes its him . . ." and don't even know cause they too, are so far-gone about the holocaust, recognition of true identity slips past them.
It disgusted me . . . Do you think how he was treated was fair and impartial ? Have you followed this ? Would you have decided his fate to be this ? c'mon lets be honest. Did this man have to suffer so long for something he did not do ? I mean this made news and even a helicopter was there to what . . . make sure he wouldn't fall out of his chair and crawl away ?

Dorine, I understand that perhaps you are of Jewish descent and have been told the horror-stories of Aushwitz, Dachau and evn Treblinka . . . so have I but from a gentile perspective which to me as far as cruelty to ANY human being is still held with compassion. To any surviving 'holocaust member', the suffering and toryure within the soul continued as it did with what Demjanjuk endured these last 35 years that I have witnessed his public humiliation. A man CANNOT be seen or identified in three separate camps all about the same time. If you study the case, it is truly a case of mistaken identity and no-one should be punished to the farthest extent of the law because someone 'suspects, yep that was him' . . .

I don't understand why John Demjanjuk has been labelled a 'nazi' ? Where in the hell are you people getting this information ? (and I am not referring to you L. wade but others who will come into this post with that attitude. He is and has never been a german nazi sympathizer but too many allegations surpassed truth . . . its very sad
He was probably arrested for a reason.
Peter, this was not any typical arrest--this was being deported with six official govt agents plus a helicopter that was getting ready to fly him to to a deportation agency never to see any of his family again. Maybe what you saw a few days ago was dignified, but that was for public viewing. Thirty five years ago and every three to four months since, in his own church, in front of his own congregationalists, he was followed, always watched, never trusted and although being a retired Ford employee now, never truly respected because of mounds of suspicion.
You still sound so 'out for revenge . . . ' and yet many of the facts in this case were very misleading allowing people to persecute and nearly execute someone the media painted as 'evil personified'. Please try and get past this because all this is doing is further widening the gap between gentiles and jews and yet if we are truly the 'human race' what should culture change when trying to achieve peaceful coexistence between nations?
If he's guilty I hope he gets a horrible revenge from God.
