“Write,” said the voice.
“Who to?” said the man.
“To the church.”
“What church?”
“Write letters to them all.”
So John sat on stones and penned his scrolls to seven of the churches he’d led; to people he’d known but might never meet again; to congregations of a life come to an end. He wrote God’s message to all the churches of the world and he wrote to seven, because seven is the number of God’s plan and the number of days of the world.
But who would read this message, John wondered, when man’s plan had so betrayed him?
