I've been wanting to block YouTube for a while. The site in and of itself isn't that bad, but it's not a site I want my kids surfing. Unfortunately, my almost 13 year old loves it, and showed it to my 10 year old, who loves it, and showed it to my 7 year old.
Occasionally, I find them searching up things they shouldn't be- nothing dirty, but stuff 7, 10, and 13 year olds don't need to be looking up.
Today when I was at the school, Chris's teacher mentioned the story he emailed her never arrived last week. I got his password, and checked- and found you tube emails. With some quick work, I found the little snot has his own account, and he's NOT nice in it.
He's acting like a pre-teen boy, making inappropriate comments. I found his user name, requested a password change, and disabled the account.
Unfortunately, that doesn't block access to the site, just removes the account.
Now, I like YouTube, and would like access to it myself on my computer (which they can't use- it's locked down at start up, and only me and hubby have the password), but I want their computer denied access.
Does anyone have any idea how to do that, short of buying some nanny software? They run XP with a wireless router. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
