When you married my Mother
We were already there
And though we were many
You did more than your share
You worked hard all your life
To clothe, house & feed
Those children of your wife
Though not of your seed
When I was still young
I thought you were mean
Now, all is said & done
And your gifts can be seen
Through, respect for my elders
Consideration & manners
All learned from you
After many butt tanners
Now, sadly, you are gone
But I hope you can hear
Me saying, Thank you
for things heartfelt & dear
Me saying,
I love you
And I'll see you up there

Nice tribute.
I hope you got to let him know you valued him before he died.
