My first Queen of Night tulip has bloomed and it is beautiful. The picture does not do the color justice. I will take more pics later after the rain. It is an awesome color... the deepest purple I have ever seen, almost black. It is a great contrast to my orange, red and yellow tulips.

The Tuesday after we put Chipper to sleep one of our dear friends died after injuries from his single person plane crash three weeks earlier.
Things come in three and yesterday one of my dearest friends that always makes me smile and laugh is leaving town to travel the USA. He had a quicky going away party last night. We couldn't go because I hurt so bad I could barely walk.
I'm holding up but it's tough at times. I still hurt really bad today. Thank you for asking. I'll be fine. I hope you are ok.
I don't think I've ever seen a tulip like that! How wonderful.
Thanks Sarah, Just wish it would have lasted longer, but nothing ever does. :)
Carol, this is a gorgeous tulip. I am a big fan of tulips, but i have never seen one of this color. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Deborah. I hope it comes back next spring.
