Queen of Night Tulip

My first Queen of Night tulip has bloomed and it is beautiful. The picture does not do the color justice. I will take more pics later after the rain. It is an awesome color... the deepest purple I have ever seen, almost black. It is a great contrast to my orange, red and yellow tulips.

I love it! I'm not a fan of red & yellow tulips. I prefer verigated, pinks, purples, and greens.

Thanks! I agree, the basic colors are everywhere, I plan to get some verigated and mix up the colors. This one is awesome. I like different.

It'll be a while for our tulips, but daffodils should be blooming soon. That certainly is a pretty tulip.

Fabulous! I used to buy an assortment of bulbs every year, different colors and variations, sometimes you could buy singles and mix them up from the Garden Club, at least a dozen was my ritual. When I got home I'd go over to one of the flower plots I'd started, throw a handful of bulbs in the air and where ever they would land I planted them!! Was such a delight every year as each bloom would be a new surprise, lol!! =~>

I am a huge fan of deep colors, and therefore find this to be a magnificent looking flower. What an attractive color - all those red and purple hues!

Thank you for your comment on the things I have done. I'm ok. We had to put our dear sweet Silky to sleep 4 weeks ago today.

The Tuesday after we put Chipper to sleep one of our dear friends died after injuries from his single person plane crash three weeks earlier.

Things come in three and yesterday one of my dearest friends that always makes me smile and laugh is leaving town to travel the USA. He had a quicky going away party last night. We couldn't go because I hurt so bad I could barely walk.

I'm holding up but it's tough at times. I still hurt really bad today. Thank you for asking. I'll be fine. I hope you are ok.
