After a week off The Amazing Race returns with the final five teams still in Thailand, this time Bangkok. Tammy and Victor were out first and remembered going from first to last in leg three, could they have some deja vu this time around? The reds were out next and once again one of them freaked out about the language issue. They didn’t think their taxi was real and flipped out on a taxi who told them it was. At the airport Tammy/Victor found out they can’t make reservations until the morning, allowing everyone to catch up of course. This episode already has a ton of flashbacks in the first five minutes, first Tammy/Victor now the fainting scene from Margie. When morning approached it was time for all five teams to get the same flight to Bangkok, where Margie/Luke leaped into first. Jen/Kisha passed them in the taxi, making for more taxi drama as their taxi didn’t know where to go. While Kisha/Jen’s taxi kept going, Margie/Luke’s stopped for directions. Kisha realized what happened with Margie/Luke giving wrong directions, showing just how manipulative the pair can be.
The rest of the teams also had some taxi drama as they were either too slow or not passing people. Margie/Luke then laded at the boat yard first where they found a Road Block. They had to select one teammate to attack a propeller to a boat for their next clue. Margie chose to do it as did Jaime, I think. Margie had an easy time putting the propeller on while crazy Jaime freaked out that the propeller didn’t understand her English. With her propeller on, Margie/Luke had to lead the driver to a clue box marked on a map. Tammy/Victor and Mark/Mike arrived next with Victor and one of the brothers taking the task. Jaime was still doing the task when the teams arrived but finished just in time to not scream at them. Kisha and Jen arrived following the Jaime/Cara run to the taxi, leaving three teams at the boat dock.
Mark/Mike finished next and also realized they had to get their bags, so they did the quick run while Kisha and Victor struggled. Kisha ended up finishing first and realized their bags were still at the dock as they started to drive away. They didn’t seem to care though and their time might be up, well as long as Victor gets his act together after screwing up with the propeller several times. He finally got his propeller working after some tightening and they were off as well, bags in tow. It seems Mike/Mark also didn’t take their bags, possibly pitting them and Kisha/Jen against each other for last place due to a stupid mistake. With all teams in the water Kisha/Jen finally remembered they needed their packs but decided to keep going, hoping they could go back to the dock. Um….. just wait you two just wait!
It was then time for the Detour: broken teeth or broken record. One had teams searching for false teeth and placing it in people’s mouths. The other had them singing in a karaoke taxi until their destination was reached. It wasn’t hard, but could take forever thanks to the traffic. Margie/Luke chose the teeth, for obvious reasons, while Cara/Jaime did the singing. Mark/Mike then got to the clue and realized they needed their bags, sending them back to the boat yard before they could continue. Out on the street Margie/Luke enlisted help to find the dentist while Kisha/Jen took a joy ride to get their bags. Arriving at the clue last Victor/Tammy did the karaoke because they are “Chinese”, hoping to make mommy proud. I’m sure they did. After learning the boat yard was too far away, Mike and Mark were screwed. They needed money to get a taxi as did Kisha/Jen.
At the dentist Margie/Luke began looking through false teeth to match them to their owner. It seems like it could take forever considering the amount of teeth they had spread out but Cara/Jaime didn’t have much luck either, once again having language issues. Mark/Mike then had an idea to call their taxi to drive to them but once again fought over money issues and the bags. Kisha/Jen still didn’t seem to care though as they jumped into the singing taxi along with Cara/Jaime who were ready to party. All four girls were having a blast singing in the taxis as Tammy/Victor appeared. They chose the “Tai-Trannies” and were off singing away. Back at the dentist Luke was having issues with the bottom and top teeth while Margie had much better luck matching them up. Mark and Mike were still having issues with their bags as they now argued with the locals on how to simply find their belongings. They were far off course now and continued to fight as one wanted the bags while the other simply wanted the million.
Being a nurse, Margie got all five teeth for the two and moved them on to the Pit Stop rather quickly. Still singing away Jen had a few questions about the Tai “ladies” partying with them while Jaime/Cara were having a blast as well. Tammy/Victor continued the fun as well but Margie/Luke had the most fun, placing in first for the second time. And this time Margie didn’t even faint! After finishing their Detour, Kisha/Jen jumped into several taxis, trying to find one who would drive them for free. That let Jaime/Cara and Victor/Tammy pass them as it now came down to who could get their bags the fastest between Kisha/Jen and Mark/Mike. After finally finding a taxi, Kisha/Jen were heading for the Pit Stop bag-less as Mark/Mike finally got theirs. They still didn’t finish the Detour though so they were behind the girls, in a way.
Although they were together the three teams heading for the Pit Stop went in differing directions, letting Cara/Jaime get their first and finish in second. Tammy/Victor ended up going the wrong way which also allowed Kisha/Jen to follow them as well. They arrived far from the mat and ran the rest of the way, allowing Kisha/Jen to place themselves in third while Tammy/Victor arrived fourth. Kisha/Jen didn’t have their passports, which they needed for Phil to check them in. Screwing them over big time and allowing Tammy/Victor to really finish in third. And we thought Dallas had passport issues last season.
With Tammy/Victor cheering them on, Jen and Kisha raced back to the boat dock in hopes of finally getting their bags back. Now with their bags, Mark/Mike used their items to barter for a ride as they jumped into the singing taxi to party, even if they were possibly going. Back at the dock the girls finally got their bags back and headed back to Phil, this time with all their stuff in tow. Mark and Mike were also on their way to the mat, making it a race of the bag less. Once again money less at the mat, Mark/Mike bartered for their ride and checked in fourth, even though they screwed up so badly. They broke yet another rule though by giving items away as money, giving them a four hour penalty. Um did these guys not read the rule book before the show started? They seriously broke more rules then anyone has combined in the entire run of the show! Lucky for Kisha/Jen though as their horrible day ended in happiness as the bad luck of the guys saved them in the end. Mark and Mike also had some good news as well, but with some bad news. They still had their four hour penalty and now a speed bump in the next round. If they come out of that one I’ll be very surprised but I’ve seen stranger things happen. *cough*Romber going from three first places to out*cough*.
