FLAGGED!!!!!! BUT WHY?????? gather help!!!!

Earlier, i found a link for a free 25$ gift certificate, for signing up at Gilt.com

now i go back to my post and find it flagged?????? but i am not sure why it would be flagged. i posted the link that i had found on a different website, and i posted what i ordered for myself ... so is there something wrong with my post?????

someone help me or tell me please .......... here is the post

Just found this one, i signed up, and had the 25$ on my balance right away, i got a 4 piece, bodywash/scrub gift set for 4$ shipped...

the link i found is not a referral link... i found the link on one of the freebie sites.....
My guess is they thought it was a referral link? Not sure- I've seen several people posting that Glit gift card, though, so that'd be my only guess.

I agree with Heather. Whoever flagged it must have thought it was a referral link. Gather will review it tomorrow and if they find nothing wrong the flagged will be removed.

From what i have seen the majority of articles flagged as spam it is a gather employee and not a member that flags them.

It was explained like this.

Gather wants people to stay here and anything that draws people from gather even for a short time is a no no.

Not saying that is what happened to your article but it is possible.

Perhaps you were flagged because it is an invite-only site? You cannot register without a link provided to you by another member. Are you allowed to share the invite link in a public forum like this or is it only allowed in certain places? If so, maybe a Gilt Groupe team member is responsible for finding links that aren't permitted and having them removed? Or maybe another member of GG recognized this and thought it didn't belong?

I'm just guessing! Hopefully if they decide to keep it down they explain why so you know in the future.

I'm sure they thought that was a referral link...when I click on yours it just takes me to the site...now when I clicked on Charity's link from her article where she said she had signed up from your post, that does look like a referral link as it says so and so welcomes you to gilt group. Anyway, don't stress over it

FYI - it doesn't matter if it's a referral link or not. It's an article with very little information and a link outside gather. To be safe that it would not be considered spam by gather, you'd need to try to have a more "meaty" article (more informative: If you removed the link, do you still have an article worth reading? - to paraphrase a rule of thumb Kevin gave me back when he was a Gather Guide, that has proven true ime). Even so, though, there are community members who flag ANYTHING with a link like that as spam, no matter what. If they're wrong, Gather clears it.

Also fyi - reposting an article that is flagged is considered trying to get around the flag and is a big no-no.

Sorry you got flagged. Don't know why we can't share links with good things we find with each other. If someone doesnt like the link then just don't go there but lets others enjoy it if they want. You should not of been flagged.
