When our families started getting too large to do the holiday ON the holiday, we did it the weekend before or after.

Maybe you can organize a holiday dinner for the whole family for next weekend?

No Grands here either, the only one of our kids here today is the daughter that is home from College. I think our older son & daughter are both working today (as am I) I get off work at 4:00, my Sis & her hubby are coming for dinner.

I am sorry that Easter isn't as you want it this year.
I know that we live too far away from our parents to see them on Easter, but if we were in the area (certainly closer than the four hours it takes to get there now) we would see them them.

I am alone on Easter, too, but it was my choice in the end. I could have gone to Chicago with my parents and brother, but I am going there end of the month and did not want to go twice in a month. Plus, what I really want to do was something else and they did not like that idea because it meant not seeing other family. Basically prefer to avoid the family drama crap that usually develops (yeah, mostly my fault) and we can all have a better holiday not that I really think Easter is a holiday anyways. Instead I am just doing normal Sunday bowling league (for some reason our league has always bowled on Easter for at almost a decade now) and babysitting for four hours after that.

That stinks! I'm sorry. My Easter was a bust, too, because my fiance got called into work this morning! We didn't even get to take the girls to church in their Easter dresses. Who has an automatic door emergency on Easter morning that can't wait?!? Maybe next year...

We won't be seeing our grandchildren today, although we saw 3 of them yesterday at a birthday party for our twin grandkids. Its still a good day though. We went to church and will be having a dinner with 2 of our adult kids. You can always call your grandkids on the phone or send them cards or letters or other goodies. Not seeing the grandkids doesn't have to ruin the day.
