Easter and the weather

Have you ever noticed that the weather tends to get nicer around Easter?  I know this doesn't always happen, but I do remember some dramatic changes happening around Easter weekend.

A few years ago, I was listening to a radio program where someone from the Farmer's Almanac was being interviewed about how the Farmer's Almanac seemed to be pretty accurate in predicting the weather.  He said that they know how to use weather cycles and patterns to predict the weather for a year.  One of the examples he used was that Easter comes around the same time as the Planting Moon.  The Planting Moon usually means that the weather will get better and farmers can start their spring activities.  Has anyone else heard of this?

Yes, that is why Easter changes dates every year. On the flip side, I can recall several Easters with a lot of snow on the ground. I remember hiding plain white boiled eggs in the snow...evil parent that I am...lol

One of my most vivid Easters when I was a kid was when my sister and I went out playing- in Canada we were SO excited that the weather had turned good- but we left our Easter eggs (chocolate... none of that hard-boiled stuff for US) out in the sun and they melted. There have been some nasty Easters too, but I think we tend to remember the nice ones.

I hadn't heard of this, but coming up, my mom always said that it rains on good Friday afternoon and it is sunny on easter Sunday. I've never paid attention to see if that's true.
