Spybot's great, I use it at least once a week to run a scan. It ought to give you the option of Quaranteening those files, which I'd do. Also, it's got (I think) an option of deleting your temp files, and if that doesn't, you can also do that, it may help too.
You're right about McAfee, paid or free version, in my opinion. What I've been using after trying a lot of them is this, works great.
Download The FREE Version, not the paid one, if you want, I've had much luck with it. I believe the current free version is 8. something or other!

Are you a member of MyPoints? If so, these may just be cookies left over from your clicking on their ads or following a link from their website. One thing to be aware of with any "spyware checker" is that it will identify cookies used to redirect or count --- and some of these may be innocuous. Others may, of course, be malicious. This is why deleting browser history, temp files, and cookies on a regular basis is important. Usually, it is good to do that before running a program like this ... then you get a better picture of what is adhering to your system.

You said McAfee doesn't show anything. Did you run a complete disk scan, or are you relying on its realtime client to catch something? If you want it to scan everything, disconnect the machine from the internet (so it is static except for scan logging) and run a complete disk scan (if you have more than one hard drive, do it for each).

You didn't say why you think there is a problem. While viruses or other malware is one area to pursue, other things can occur so don't only focus there.

Marilyn mentioned AVG Free. Personally, I find it identifies more than McAfee (unless it is configured in a corporate environment) and it has a spyware checker built in that can help cross-check there as well.

Yes you did get some great help I'm a fan of AVG Free to . When my computer is acting hinky I always dump the temps and cookies . I also have CA system that My husband bought its works good but I hate that annoying pop up message that tells you that automatic downloads are ready to install now. this thing always comes on when I'm playing my game and sometime it freezes it , Gosh, I just realized I really do babel on and on lol
