What a tragic outcome for a young woman's life. Her death is made even more sad in that she died feeling hated, completely unloved, isolated.

How can we save our kids from this horrible bullying? Whether it's on the playground, in the locker room at school, or on the web?

I have heard of this before and I think it's horrible. The woman who did this to her should get life in jail, she took a life by causing this girl to commit suicide.

It's got to be a collective effort. More people need to stand up against the bullying, by contacting authorities whenever bullying is observed. Rules, laws, and penalties need to be enforced. Parents need to be actively involved in their children's lives and pay attention to their behavior- especially if it changes. They also need to encourage their kids to come to them with any problems and then listen- really LISTEN- to what they're saying.

And it is not just teens who are bullied and stalked online, but legislation for teens will pave the way for all users to be protected.

Yes, you're absolutely right, Kathryn. It also may help prevent a teen bully from turning into an adult bully.

It always bothers me to think that anyone can feel good about bullying another person, however subtle it might be. I think it's a real show of poor self-esteem to think that belittling another person can make one appear more important or "cool".

It's a totally ugly behavior that should not be tolerated.

Terrible and what is more terrible is I was one that had to file a report a complaint with the Internet Complaint Center. Although they did investigate in the long run basically all was done was they called the person and told them if they didn't stop something would happen. I think if they would prosecute these people when they do something this severe then people would take it serious.

It goes to show that as parents we need to make sure our children know how much taunting and teasing hurts. It's just gotten worse as the years go by.
With the advent of technology, it's become tougher to fight.
We all need to band together to monitor what our kids are doing online.
To make sure they are safe.
To heck with privacy.
If it saves your kid's life, it's worth it.

Bullying needs to stop period. Kids and grown ups need to start showing more respect and manners towards other people. They need to stop being mean or using the excuss it happened to them.
