NEON FLIES AT NIGHT
Encapsulated in discharge tubes
Neon glows, and it shows
its wares:
OPEN, HOT DONUTS, MAJESTIC, BUD LITE...
It alters the dark landscape of the night.

A noble gas,
it's odorless, colorless, inert...
but in advertising
it rules the evening.

Abundant in the universe,
but rare on Earth,
it grows tired of its glass prison...
and takes flight at first chance,

breaking free of gravity,
heading towards the heavens
and the midnight blackness of space
where it rightly belongs.

I like the way you "humanized" neon.
I looked up neon with a Google search to get my facts straight and the rest just fell into place..I love when the muses work with me like that ;-)
