Two days in a row now I have fantastic shopping stories. I will say I make it a point not to judge people, however this woman did so many things to show herself to me I feel comfortable saying she cares about NO ONE but herself, thought of someone else doesn't even cross her mind.
So shopping at Target, we need a couple new bibs for my son. We are walking around and I here these teen girls yelling about stuff, don't think much of it. We head up to the checkout line and there are the teen voices again yelling back at their mom about how fabulous these hats are. One teen who is standing by her mother yells to the other teen by the hats say a whole isle away - "YAY I TRIED ON THAT HAT EARLIER!" There is no reason to be yelling in a store, but mom doesn't care. Ok i've yelled in stores, we all do but this is just silly! Not enough on it's own to warrant a Gather article.
So mom pulls up to the cash out lanes (you'll see why i said pulls in a minute) one casher is getting ready to leave, she has her light off. Teen girls start heading for her, mom says no her light is out. Teen girls spin around and their faces say "What WE have to wait in line?! NEVER!" So they get behind me with their big cart full o'crap. This is where mom starts showing her personality, she is holding the cart like both hands on the wheel and lets get ready to race. Every time an employee walks by a register (only one opened so far) she tucks her head and gets ready to run. Each time they walk by, now I see a young lady walk up to her register and I think well this could be one, or she too could be leaving and checking out of her register. Mom sees this and really buckles down, as soon as the girl says I can help the next person Mom ZOOMS by me. I mean blow me out of the water. Now let me say there is an older gentleman in front of me who is next in line, me and then her. Making it worse she has a cart full of stuff, me maybe 6 items, no cart even! It's only right you give the man a chance, then me before racing up there. No it's her lane she deserves it, well to my enjoyment another lady beat her to it! HA HA HA. Now this might warrant a Gather article but it continues.
So mom finally checks out all of her crap, I and the old man are still waiting. So what do we see each of her two teen (one preteen) daughters have their own orders. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This huge long line, you cut people off and then you are going to let your daughters each take their own orders. Throw the crap in with yours have them give you the money. Surely they don't have jobs, it's probably birthday money or money you gave them, teach them see that there are other people waiting lets hurry thru the line. NOOOO! You cut people off and take your time.
So finally they are done, they old man is just now getting to ring up so the rest of us in line are now forming a whoever is next goes to the empty register, like most civilized people do. That way me so I go up there, get my 6 items, scan my card I don't even have to sign, brought my own bag and I am done. WOW it took me forever, yep glad she rushed in front of me!
Stupid woman! But the story continues because as I walk to my car look who is parked next to me!!! Now let me explain I park in a funny place, hardly anyone parks here. There is a row of handicapped parking next to the side of the building, we park at the end. We do it because we have young kids, we have enough room to get them in and out of their car seats without taking up parking spots or risking damage to other cars. As a bonus the kids can run on the side walk and not have to cross the parking lot. So why she parked here is beyond me.
I see her loading her car and there is her cart at the front of her minivan. She turns around and starts walking back into the store, I look at my husband "aww look she forgot something!" And there in the front of her car is her cart, she is walking back into the store to get her starbucks coffee or whatever and can't even take the freaking cart back up!!! She is going to let the poor kid who gets the carts walk alllll the way down the side of the building to get her cart. Take the cart B word! You are going that way anyway it doesn't take a lot of effort! JEEZE MAN!
But it gets better! There in the front seat of the mini van is her daughter PICKING HER FEET! Ok gross! But then I notice the car is running, I am guessing so the daughters can have the AC on. Yes it was warm today but roll down the windows and you get a nice breeze, I mean we are by the freaking freeway!!! Now you need to know there are signs everywhere around town saying "keep our city beautiful, turn off your engine". I mean everywhere! But here this woman thinks that she is exempt from this sign.
Clearly she was thinking of not one single person other than herself the entire shopping trip! I get sometimes we are in a hurry but this woman was just out of control inconsiderate to the shoppers, to the employees and to mother nature/our town. Freaking piece of work there, and you can tell her daughters are already acting like mom. Just sad!
I hate shopping.

Good article ;-)
It's hard to decide which is worse, the parents who spend time with their kids, but behave like this, or the parents who just let their kids do whatever they want, even when they are way too young to be unsupervised.

I sure hope that she didn't have to stand in line at Starbucks!
