Gethsemane, betrayal Camaraderie, rejection Heartache torments Worse than thorns Beatings, wrath Memories bitter Forsaken, fallen Driven, risen Powerful love Lifts our cross Bears our burdens Never fails.

A non-religious, Jewish friend once asked if she could come to church with me on Easter. A friend of hers had converted to Catholicism and I think she was curious. The mass incorporated the traditional readings between the priest and congregation. I felt her pull on my arm, looked over and she was crying. "I never realized how sad this must have been," was all she could say.
My point? It is easy to forget what Easter is about for Christians. Thank you.
Wonderful poem! So sorry that I missed it before.
