New Jersey businessman Arthur Kelly is claiming in divorce papers that Bruce Springsteen is the "other man" who slept with his wife Ann Kelly. The papers state that his wife Ann:
"has committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, N.J., and Colts Neck, N.J., at various times and places too numerous to mention."
However, a source claims that Ann Kelly and Bruce Springsteen are just friends and that they go to the same gym.
So did Bruce Springsteen really have an affair with a married woman while cheating on his own wife? The rocker addressed the affair rumor with the following statement on his website:
“I hesitate to use this Web site for anything personal believing it
should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the
distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job.
However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors
that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they
shouldn’t pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18
years – the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family
we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains
as strong as the day we were married.”
This isn't the first time that Bruce Springsteen has been rumored of cheating on his wife and fellow E Street Band member, Patti Scialfa. In 2006, he was accused of having an affair with a 9/11 widow.
What do you think? Once a cheater, always a cheater? Or are both rumors completely unfounded? Maybe Arthur just wants his 15-minutes of fame. Or perhaps he's just a delusional and jealous husband. I think he really could have just left Bruce Springsteen's name out of the divorce papers. True or untrue, it seems that he wanted to get some press out of it.
