Yet another interesting month and another interesting challenge. Congrats to all who participated. If you didn't pick up a camera and get some shots in...then take a few moments and look at the photos.
Dannielle offered us an interesting challenge. She's also chosen the shot she felt most fulfilled the challenge she had in mind.
Dannielle:
This shot by Lisa K. http://www.gather.com/viewImage.jsp?fileId=3096224745570528&grpId=3659174697245219 is the one that stole my heart. It's got two aspects of "no longer here" and they are compatible such that they create depth to the idea. The walls are no longer here, and thus they no longer define "here" for anyone. The way the wall ends with just a suggestion of a wall plays off the riot of branches and vines reclaiming the stones in a new definition of here. The stones were always here, but no longer "here" as a builder defined. This one gets my vote for best.
Honorable Mention, Doyle:
I love this shot, the B&W tones and the echo that reflects today's economy...seem to reverberate with the world we know so well (too well) today.
Again, judging is not easy at all. Judging is tough. I'd much rather be taking photos than judging them. I just want to say thank you for those that participated and we're all honored that you posted your photos. I'd also like to thank our judge Dannielle for her challenge and time to select. Thank you, Dannielle!
So, Lisa? Can you give us all a challenge? E-Mail me!
Gayle, who has given so much of her time and energy, will be taking a break for a tad...due to...you know...real life and all. If someone would like to volunteer to step up temporarily to help me with this...please e-mail me.
