My daughter almost killed her dwarf bunny by squeezing it to death today. She sis not allowed to get her out unless my husband or I can help keep watch. She didn't listen. If it wasn't for the fact my teenage son just got up and happen to get the bunny. I think it would be dead. The bunny was laying on its back gasping for air. My son was softly rubbing its stomach and talking to it. Also trying to blow air in its mouth. The bunny is doing much better now. She has even eaten some. As of right now. My daughter is not longer allowed to have anything to do with the bunny. Its my sole care now.
For those that don't know: My daughter has ADHD and I am thinking she was either wrongly diagnosed or there is something else wrong with her to.

Hopefully you can find a doctor that will listen to your concerns and take your doubts seriously. You deserve to have the best treatment for your children!
Zachary killed our rat when he was almost 3. He didn't try to hurt her, but he woke up early, climbed up to her cage and got her out. It was so sad, I felt horrible. I'm glad your son was able to save the bunny in time!

My daughter did know what she was doing, because my teen yelled at her for what she was doing. But for some reason it was not clicking in to her. If he wouldn't of stopped going on. I am sure that rabbit would not be alive.
I have talked to my daughter about it. She tells me she told the rabbit sorry and wanted to give it a banana. I told her no. I also reminded her that sorry does not cut it. It is good to apologize. But just saying sorry does not get you off the hook for what you did.
I suggest that you take a serious look at how she interacts with humans as well as animals. What behaviors is she displaying? If she would try to kill a bunny, what else might she do- especially as she gets older?
Hopefully, you can find a doctor who is willing to find the answers before something even worse happens.
I have thought the same thing. But her current doctor does not want to look at any other diagnoises besides ADHD. So, far I have no had any luck finding another doctor who currently takes my husband work insurance.
It does scare, The worse part is the doctor knows of her doing things like this. Heck, she put her fist through the window of a partial glass door because she was mad at her brother and had to be rushed to the hopsital because the bleeding was so bad last year.
She does things on the sur of the moment. No thought what so ever goes in to her thinking. It is like everything is on a whim.
She argues alot, and I mean alot. Not just with her siblings but other people as well. She wants to be boss. She was to be in charge.. But at 8 yrs old that isn't happening in my house.
