A man who taught in Murfreesboro and Metro city schools has been arrested on charges heÂ’s been secretly taping teenagers having sex in his house.

According Metro police, Louis Jay Levine was arrested this morning by sex crimes detectives on federal charges of producing child pornography.

Levine, 52, was a science teacher in Murfreesboro City Schools and an occasional substitute teacher at Metro Nashville Public Schools. He was placed on administrative leave April 1 in Murfreesboro and taken off the substitute list at Metro, according to police and school officials.

Wow.  Why were teenagers in his house having sex in the first place?  Hopefully the court system is able to get to the bottom of this.

According to the article, he was letting them drink alcohol and smoke pot in his "outbuilding." So, he was letting them do things they couldn't do at home at his house and they just didn't know they were being videotaped.

I'm gettin' REAL tired of this Teacher/Student sex business - on ALL levels.
There has ALWAYS been some teachers that got into teaching JUST to get at kids.
When I was in 5th grade my elementary school got a new VP. He HAD been the HS band leader until the school found out that he was hitting on the girls in the band. The same year my home room teacher was known to "massage" girls shoulders. He did it to me exactly once. I looked him in the face and told him not to touch me. Years later he was suspended from the school on suspicion of molesting a student.
However, just like other forms of abuse, things are just coming out of the darkness now because it's become totaly unacceptable instead of something that is swept under the rug.

I'm not convinced that teachers are any more prone to student/youth sex scandals than other parts of society. The Catholic church has been in the news for years of such scandals. Also, take a gander at the local sex offender list your state.... the number of molestors and child rapist may just surprise you... I doubt more than a few (if that many) are actually teachers (or have been in the past). The teacher scandals just seem to get more news coverage!
