This morning, I got out the massive box of plastic eggs I have, and started filling them. I got most of them from my Grandparent's house over the weekend, but I'd also picked a lot up at Goodwill and Salvation Army as I find them. I want to have a LOT because this summer I'll be using them for a family reunion.
I'm also planning my meal for Sunday. We're going to have honey baked ham for the meat, and corn, glazed carrots, and potatoes for veggies. I'll also have gravy and noodles. For dessert, I'm letting Raegan make a Bunny shaped cake, plus the local grocery store has small Pepperidge Farm cakes on sale. I want to grab 5 of them (5/$10), and we can use one now, and save the other 4 for other times.
I also picked up chocolate, peeps, and graham crackers to do the Peeps S'mores. I don't like peeps (or marshmallow, for that matter), but you should have seen me last night trying to find colors! The kids have color coordinated baskets this year- green for Chris, pink for Gilly, orange for Rae, and they are each getting their own color of peeps. I wanted to avoid those three colors, which should have left us with purple, blue, and yellow.
All we could find was yellow at Walmart, and Meijers had NO peeps! I'm wondering- is there just a huge peeps shortage this year? Blah!
Anyway, I'll do those in yellow. I was hoping for a couple colors, but alas, that won't work.
Here are some shots that I took this morning as I filled the eggs for the egg hunt the kids will have on Sunday.

The Filled Eggs:

I didn't fill all the eggs we had- just one box. It's still a LOT of eggs. I have a LOT of left over candy right now, but I have no intention of filling them with tons of sugar.

They have those colors of peeps at Walmart.
I think the kids will love this egg hunt! Last year, we were in an apartment, so we were stuck doing it inside. We only managed to hide I think 6 per kid. This time, I'm not doing it color coordinated hunting- they can just find what they can find!
(but I still do the mommy thing, I buy candy and put a GC in a bowl for him...and I eat most of it..lol)
No one to celebrate Easter with.
I hope you have fun
I don't want orange, pink, or green because we got those for the Easter baskets. I wanted to try and do purple, blue, and yellow.
I did stop into Dollar Tree tonight, and found chocolate bunny peeps, so I grabbed those. We'll make them up in yellow and brown, I suppose. The kids will love them either way!
