Vermont today became the 4th state to make gay marriage legal.
There was a dramatic 100-49 vote in the House - which is just enough to override the Republican Gov. Jim Douglas' veto. This vote followed the Senate's 23-5 vote.
Woot !!! Justice is coming to America !!!
Now when is Minnesota going to get a chance to override our Republican Governor on this issue ??? There are gay couples in Minnesota, too !!!

They seen the light !
How cool is that?
But these days there isn't much farms or labor.
(in all fairness)
Oh, I'm sorry Love, -- this post was about gay marriage!!! Forgive me....I am so ill with the stupid things our SC governor has done or has not done that I forget the 'topic' at hand!!!! This is great for Vermont...and ALL people!!
Actually, I have this feeling that gay marriage will force lawmakers to re-evaluate the equality in straight marriage. No, guys, the gals don't get everything when it comes to divorce, at least not in the state I live in. (Not unless "everything" is defined as all the debt plus all the responsibility for raising the children.) I don't believe straight marriage is really viewed (in the eyes of the law) as a partnership between two equals - can't say that if two women want to get married.
When you strip it off all the romance and religion, marriage is a legal contract that is way overdue for review!
As for Minnesota, it sounds like it has gotten a lot more conservative since my brief time there.
Btw, I'm waiting for my Easter bonnet!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it's going to be awhile to see any change here in the South...
They are so fortunate and neither know it, nor wish to share it with gay people.
You're so right.
And Leo, don't forget Connecticut!
Oh, I almost forgot. We do have the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Pats to keep our little minds occupied.
I hadn't heard about it.
Excellent! Figures that Republicans are trying to keep gay marriage illegal. I think it's cuz they are unhappy little people who want everyone else to be unhappy.
