You may have heard a rumor that actor Kal Penn committed suicide, but he's fine! However, Kal Penn's character on House, Dr Lawrence Kutner, did committed suicide last night in a surprising twist on the show. You may ask yourself why producers would write a major actor out of the script of a hit series.
It turns out, Kal Penn is leaving House to work at the White House. Clearly Kal Penn has much higher inspirations than his character from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle!
How many actors out there do you know are willing to leave all the lights and glamor in Hollywood to work a job in politics? Not to mention take a major pay cut for it. I really find this incredibly fascinating. Kal Penn will be the Associate Director in the Office of Public Liaison at the White House. He said that an International Studies program at Standford influenced him to make a change in his career.
I'm torn between how I should feel about this turn of events in Kal Penn's career. Should I feel happy that he's taken such an interest in politics and our country? Or should I wonder if he's really qualified to have this White House job? Even more so, should I be totally bummed that there may never be a Harold and Kumar 3, so that they can redeem themselves from the second movie?
What do you think?

As for him being qualified, he's probably more qualified than most of the people working in the white house right now. He's very intelligent and I suppose it's a good thing that doing something positive with his career.
Horrors!
I've never watched an episode of House.
