So Friday evening on my way out the door after work I get a call on my cell phone from my husband. He wanted to make sure I came straight home because our youngest son, Matthew (age 3) had been jumping on his sister's bed (AGAIN) and had fallen off and "hit his head." Well my husband said he hit his head so I was imagining a possible concussion. He actually hit his face and if he'd been turned a little more he most likely would have broken his little nose severely.
When I got home Daddy was helping him hold an ice pack and I found out he had hit his face on this:

When he fell off of this:
Soooo, I have been warning my 3 and 5 yr olds to STOP jumping on the beds. When my almost 12 yr old was about 4 he and his older brother (who just turned 13) decided to make up a fun game. It's a game where one of them gets between the mattress and boxspring on the bed while the other stands on the dresser and jumps over and onto the bed. NOT a good idea. My son broke his tibia (just missing the growth plate)... had to have a cast... and went to preschool in a wheelchair.
So here are some pictures of the progress of my son's bruising.

Arnica creme applied before it bruised would work to prevent bruising. Increases blood flow without heat. Naturepath or health food store...we bought it at New Season's for bruises "earned" in basketball. Those girls play rough...especially Oregon City. ;-)

Hope he heals quickly.
I have a dare devil granddaughter who's now 6 and had to have staples in her head 2 years ago from jumping on the bed and hitting the corner of a dresser.
He has the most beautiful eyes!
Ellie: Aww thanks! I think so too! :)
He looks proud of it.
My son (who is almost three) was running through the hallway at full speed and not paying attention and ran his head smack dab in the corner of the hallway. He got a big egg bump on his forehead. It is starting to heal and turn that yellow color now.
I can't stand it when they get hurt. Today I have to take my daughter to her uniform fitting for kindergarten. My little boy has this big goose egg on his head.
Thank you for posting this to the Gimme 10!!! Group
OUCHIE!!!
Kids! Ahhh! Of course, it gets soooo much better when they are teenagers, as Vern implies :)
Yep little monkeys get hurt when they do things that they are not supposed to do. He had a real shiner going on but it looks like it had been painful. Sorry I am so slow about getting to all the pictures.
there's something about kids and beds...one of my broke a foot jumping that way.....it is so hard for them to resist
