I love the midwest. I love the people and the culture, but sometimes I get tired of the weather. Here it is, Opening Day 2009 and it's a balmy 38 degrees outside. Not cool. I'm watching the Reds open up the season vs. the Mets and everyone is wearing winter gear. Of course, I just got back from a week in the Caribbean and any weather pales in comparison to that.
When it gets this bad though, I sometimes think of relocating. If I have to endure the cold, I mine as well have some beautiful scenery around me or actually get to ski on a real mountain instead of this. I've looked at this site for some Colorado land, but unfortunately I haven't hit oil yet to be able to afford it. My wife would be set because I found this great Denver pregnancy website. They have valuable resources for expecting mothers for pretty much every major city.
It would be sweet though to move West one day. I'd buy some bull riding ropes and other gear and fit right in. I love being outdoors, and that part of the country is so beautiful. I watch classic Old West movies, and it just makes me want to be out there. It would definitely beat out the Midwest Weather that we have here. Til then, I guess I'll just be California dreaming.
