It's Midnight in Minnesota,

and something wonderful is about to happen...

But first... we pay homage to an old adage...

One we'd rather ignore...

The night is always darkest just before the dawn...

In books, it's the black moment, when all seems lost...

And then, a happy ending.

In history, it's the Dark Ages...

Then, the Renaissance...

For Christians, it's the Cross...

Only then, the Resurrection...

In the seasons, it's only after winter, with it's killing frosts...

That spring bursts forth with new life...

In our lives, sadly, it's often heartbreak... before true happiness...

It's the way of the world.

So come. Howl at the moon with me.

Embrace your black moment... whether death, darkness, or injustice...

Look it in the eye.

Find beauty in it, or deplore it.

But never fear it...

Because something wonderful is about to happen...

The light at the end of the tunnel...

The rainbow after the storm...

It's almost time... In Minnesota, around the world, in our hearts...

And Here...

This week -- and next -- at Rainbow Connections, we'll be exploring the themes of Night and Day / midnight and daybreak in honor of my newly released book, Night and Day.
This week's color is Midnight... Midnight Blue, Midnight Black... Midnight any color of the rainbow as long as it's deep, and dark, and rich, and intense.
Next week's color, starting the day or two after Easter, will be Daybreak... in Denmark... or anywhere.
Each week, for the next two weeks, in addition to the regular winners, a grand prize winner will be chosen. That person will win a free copy of Night and Day!
So, starting now, at Rainbow Connection ~ Colorful Competitions, you're cordially invited to post photos, poetry, videos, posts, paintings and other creative expressions pertaining to the color Midnight.
Come join the fun if you haven't already -- and whatever you do, don't forget, something wonderful is about to happen!
(Not to fear - Ochre Winners will be announced soon...)
