Tonight we had shredded bbq pork sandwiches, mashed potatoes and orange slices.
I cooked 3.3 lbs of boneless butterfly pork chops in the crockpot on high for 4 hours.
Pork chops bought on sale for a total of $9.33
Can of beef broth that the pork chops cooked in .69
Bottle of bbq sauce added after the pork was cooked and shredded .99
package of hamburger buns .88
Ore-Ida Steam and Mash potatoes on sale and with coupon $2.79
Oranges $2.07
Total cost of the meal was $16.75. More than I usually spend but still an awesome price to feed 10 people. And, we have bbq pork left over for lunch tomorrow for those of us who don't go to school.
One thing that would have made the meal a bit cheaper is if I would have bought a 5 lb bag of potatoes for the same cost as the Ore-Ida. A 5 lb. bag would have been made into 2 meals instead of just one.
(I would have fed 11 but didn't count Jasmine since she is on her vegetarian thing. She did eat the mashed potatoes and orange slices however. She put peanut butter on her hamburger bun, and then drank a glass of soy milk.)
