Having only went to the gym 3 times this week, Russ and I met up and went to the gym today. Holy Ouch! We got there between 11:30 and 12:00 and started out on the Bikes. 16 minutes later and 4.45 miles, I huffed and puffed my way over to the leg crunch machine. 3 reps of 10 leg crunches on 340 lbs and my legs felt like jello. I can do 500 lbs, but personally I think its too much and with my legs already being muscular I dont want to turn my lower half into Godzilla and my upper half still look like Jello, so I stick between 300 and 360 lbs. Anything lower and its too light.
After that it was onto a few chest, back, and arm machines. Follow that up with some situps, free weight curls and back to the *groan* bike for another 12 minutes on the bike. I did another 4.45 miles. I cant figure out why but I can do so much better the second time on the bike in a shorter amount of time.
When we finished that it was off to the sauna, steam room, and pool. Which honestly is our reward for everything we did on the gym floor. We spent quite a while there, heating up and then going to the pool to cool off and swim laps. Finally after a shower we left about 4:15. So here I sit and my body is letting me know I need to spend more time at the gym instead of taking several days off. I am hoping next week to go back to 6 days at the gym with a day off and get back in the swing of things. I dread waking up tomorrow morning because I know I am going to feel like road kill, but *someday* it will all be worth it!
