This weekend, we took a little road trip down to my friends house in Cookeville, TN. We stopped at the Stonhaus Winery in Crossville, TN located just off the interstate (I-40). I've been to many wineries in my time, but this one really knows how to treat you! They opened at 10am on a Saturday and when we went in we could tell that they have put quite a bit of effort into ambiance. In addition to the winery, they have a fudge and cheese shop (to complement the wines they sell) and of course souveniers (wine related). The experience begins when you "belly up" to the wine bar. They have about 14 wines and they go from dry to sweet - and they offer you all 14 to taste in order. For the dry to semi sweets, they give you a cup of there cheese and crackers to cleanse the palet. Very nice. Then when they serve the sweet wines, they provide their chocolate fudge to compliment their Raspberry Mist wine. Perfect. They give a 5% discount if you buy 6 wines as we did. Its a great deal for excellent wine. If your headed toward Nashville - stop there and give it a try - you will be glad you did!
